Song: "King's Dead"
Artists: Jay Rock ft. Kendrick Lamar, Future, and James Blake
Released: 2018
So, I was casually listening to random music on YouTube (surprise, surprise). Then I see that Jay Rock released a new song, so of course I get hype as hell. Oh, and it has K.Dot. HELL YES!
I press play, and that beat comes in!
"MISS ME WITH THAT BULLSHIT!" This song is a single for the upcoming Blank Panther soundtrack. I don't know what this song has to do with the comic, but I fuck with it nonetheless. Jay Rock murdered this beat, and some people speculate he could be taking shots at Big Sean because he's saying "lil bitch" over and over. I think that's fiddlesticks. He's talking about a girl. This song is a club banger! Jay Rock's flow and voice is just dope on this track. I also don't know what "then I freaked it" is supposed to mean, but leave it up to Kendrick to come up with something weird to say. This song is more of a vibe, rather than a song with lyrics that I want to analyze. I mean, Future said "chitty chitty bang". What the hell is that about? I don't know but I like it!
Then these folks decide to switch the beat! Kendrick is the king of beat changes! I hate it when they do this to meeeeee! I WASN'T REAAAADDDDY!!!
Why is Kendrick going so hard??!!!? He done turned into Kung Fu Kenny.
I'm Just sitting here like
Who hurt you, Kendrick? What did they do to you? DAMN. Just look at these lyrics.
Fuck your moral, fuck your family, fuck your tribe Fuck your land, fuck your children, fuck your wives Who am I? Not your father, not your brother Not your reason, not your future Not your comfort, not your reverence, not your glory Not your heaven, not your angel, not your spirit Not your message, not your freedom Not your people, not your neighbor Not your baby, not your equal Not the title y'all want me under All hail King Killmonger
Um okay Kendrick! Yeezus!
